《飞鸟集》（泰戈尔诗集之一）由105段诗歌组成。

每段诗歌都只有简短的两三句话，却在冥冥中，悄悄为我们点亮了什么东西。而在这些集灵感与思索为一身的精悍短诗中，泰戈尔更向我们展示了他的多个身份——他时而是一个襁褓中的婴孩，为母亲的微笑而手舞足蹈；时而是一名四海为家的探险家，向着高山大海发出感叹；时而是一位热恋中的青年，因心爱的姑娘而讴歌爱情；时而是一位满头银发的老朽，独自在回忆中反思人生；但更多时他只是一个无名的过客，为世间万物记录下灵感闪动的瞬间，然后微笑着安静离开。

作者照片除去泰戈尔清新自然的文笔，在《飞鸟集》中，我更多感受到的是一种对生活的热爱以及对爱的思索。毫无疑问，泰戈尔的灵感来源于生活，但同时更高于生活；他用自己对生活的热爱，巧妙地隐去了一些苦难与黑暗，而将所剩的光明与微笑毫无保留地献给了读者。

泰戈尔少年时代即开始文学创作，在半个多世纪的创作生涯中，他涉足诗歌、小说、戏剧等领域，且均获得杰出成就；其中，最能体现他的风格特征的，是他的诗。在印度，在世界许多国家，泰戈尔都被尊为“诗圣”。

1910年发表的哲理诗集《吉檀迦利》最早显示了泰戈尔的独特风格。从形式上看，这是一部献给神的颂歌，“吉檀迦利”就是“献诗”的意思。

但泰戈尔歌颂的并不是“一神教”拥有绝对权威、巍然凌驾于万物之上的神，而是万物化成一体的泛神，是人人可以亲近、具有浓厚平民色彩的存在。诗人劝告那些盲目的顶礼膜拜者们：“把礼赞和数珠撇在一边罢！”因神并不在那幽暗的神殿里，“他是在锄着枯地的农夫那里/在敲石的造路工人那里/太阳下，阴雨里/他和他们同在/衣袍上蒙着尘土。”

人们应该脱下圣袍，到泥土里去迎接神，“在劳动里，流汗里/和他站在一起罢。” 泰戈尔认为，作为一个诗人，如果只是搬弄华丽词藻或炫耀文字技巧，同样是无法通向神的。

那些浮华的装饰将成为阻障。他崇尚纯真和简朴，企望自己的生命“简单正直像一枝苇笛”，让神“来吹出音乐”，从而达到人梵神合一的境界。

《吉檀迦利》所表现出的泛神论思想，无疑与印度古代典籍如《奥义书》等息息相通。但泰戈尔在发扬本民族传统的时候，并无意营造一个封闭的世界，他渴望长期隔绝的东西方能够不断接近、沟通。

1912年泰戈尔自己把《吉檀迦利》译成英文，次年便以此获得了诺贝尔文学奖。评奖委员高度评价了泰戈尔的创作，特别是他通过文学创作“调和人类文明两极化”的努力。

针对第一句话的疑问，我们可以这样解释：箭在离开弓之后，就是独立的了，他的自由就不再是弓可以掌控的了，而弓却在明知箭终会脱离他的情况下，坚持认为，你的这之前都是属于我的，其实是一种自欺欺人的说法，说明一些看似属于自己的东西其实并不真正属于自己，自己所拥有的不过就是当下，就是现在，从而表明万事万物都有他的运作规律，想要一味地去掌控去占有，其实都是很愚蠢的做法，而我们所能做的，就是把我当下，把我眼前，珍惜身边的所有。

现在来看第二句疑问的分析：同样的，星辰是属于天空的，并不属于花朵，而花朵在夜间会晶晶亮，是因为花朵上凝结的小露珠在月光，星辰的照耀下显得熠熠夺目，一旦星辰没有了，她的光彩也就没有了，而那些闪耀的露珠就变成了普通的水滴，再也不会闪闪发光了，这句话说明，很多美丽的事物其实美丽的源泉并不在自己身上，而是借由他人在能散发光彩，变得有价值，而一旦那些凭借消失，这些事物就变得很平常普通了。

泰戈尔的诗歌一般都是借物喻人生的，有些花朵，星星，小草说得话，她们的境遇有时候就是人的境遇，这要弄懂了这层意思，泰戈尔的诗歌就不只是语言美，而是有生命人性的深度了。
